Gert Jan is always seeking to develop challenging products that make living easier and more beautiful, with a strong contribution to a fair and sustainable world. He is especially passionate about disaster response which he expresses in volunteering in the rapid response relief team RescueNet.
After a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and several oversees experiences in development work, Gert Jan became a product developer with strong focus on concept development of challenging mechanical products. Last year he decided to go independent with his engineering firm “Dirty Boots” through which he aims to invent the tangible products of a better tomorrow.
“I have initiated the MER Innovation Meeting because I see so many high quality teams with their awesome equipment, but still we are struggling to fit everything together in the best way. If we want to be out there fast, and faster each time, we need to innovate. Existing solutions should be aligned better and gaps need to be filled with innovations. How could we do this better than getting together with the professionals that are at home in these crisis deployments?”
